Avionics and Sensors

Electrochem® first entered the military and aerospace market in the late 1970s when NASA required a battery solution for an upcoming space flight. They trusted Wilson Greatbatch, founder of our parent company and inventor of the lithium cell for the implantable pacemaker, to create a power solution for this critical aerospace application.

Since that time, Electrochem has evolved to power a wide array of applications within the military avionics and sensor market, including Flight Data Recorders, Emergency Locator Beacons (ELB), Underwater Locator Beacons (ULB), and Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Beacons.
